The Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon Obasa has been accused of plot to create unnecessary crisis in the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Lagos State.
In a statement at the weekend, Mandate Movement in Mushin local government described Obasa as a desperate politician who thinks the only way he can get to the top is by destroying iconic figures in the party.
The group berrated Obasa over what it described as an ‘unfortunate treatment’ of Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo, the Chairman of the Mandate Movement within the All Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos State.
The group said Obasa has failed to learn from the crisis he created among lawmakers in the House of Assembly which almost destroyed the tradition of brotherhood laid by Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu since 1999 adding that Obasa lacks the wisdom and tactics to manage success.
Reacting in a statement on Friday, a Chieftain of the movement and in extension APC, Alhaja Tawakalitu Kasumu condemned the manner at which the Speaker has handled the invitation of Enilolobo to the Lagos Assembly, stressing that the Speaker and his agents are only playing mere politics.
She advised the Speaker to differentiate between the political and governance atmosphere. She said that this a period of governance and expressed worries that the executive arm of the government in Lagos State needs the legislative total focus in handling issue of governance and particularly issues bordering security, youth empowerment, business and medical services.
She said, “It’s high time the legislative arms, most especially the Rt. Hon. Obasa are held accountable for their actions and inactions for the ultimate benefits of the people”.
However, she advised Alhaji Enilolobo to remain focus, as he’s on the right track. She urged him to continue to be steadfast like he has always been, being optimistic that 2023 politics will relegate many corrupt politicians.
