A leading Chairmanship aspirant in Abeokuta South Local Government, Ogbeni Akano Yaya Kayode (AYK) has congratulated Chief (Dr.) Femi Majekodunmi on the conferment of the Bada Chieftancy title on him by the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo.
AYK, in a statement released in Abeokuta, said, Dr. Majekodunmi, a doctor cum politician is deserving of the honour on the account of his impact on the society.
In his words, “I congratulate Chief (Dr.) Femi Majekodunmi on the conferment of the chieftaincy title on him by the revered Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland. He is deserving of the honour because of his illustrious achievements, professionally and as well as in politics. There is no gainsaying Baba Majekodunmi’s humility, resourcefulness, calmness and more importantly, societal impacts.
“To merit the title, Bada, Majekodunmi has done a lot as a medical doctor and an elder statesman”.
“The Bada works directly with the Alake to rally descendants of Egba over the world for peace, unity and progress as a people. I am sure the choice of Dr. Majekodunmi is well deserved and without doubt, will contribute immensely to the Alake’s quest to bring growth and development to Egba Kingdom.”
Meanwhile, former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun have, in separate congratulatory letters, eulogised Chief (Dr.) Femi Majekodunmi on on the conferment of the Bada title.
In Obasanjo’s letter, he regretted not being in the country to witness the celebration but however disclosed that, his son, Dr. Seun Obasanjo would represent him at the event.
