…calls for sustainable peace, security and economic well-being of Ogun state
A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Mojeed Soyebo, popularly known as Oscar, has felicitated with the muslim community in Sagamu and Ogun State at large on the successful completion of this year Ramadan.
Oscar, in a statement issued on Saturday, by his media aide, Lateef Owodunni, said the prayers and sacrifices of the Muslim ummah, during the period, contributed greatly to the relative peace being witnessed across the country in the last one month.
The statement read in part: “I send my warm greetings to fellow Muslim brothers and sisters in Sagamu and Ogun State at large who successfully completed their fast in the holy month of Ramadan.
“I fervently believe you all have fulfilled the spiritual obligations attached to the Holy Ramadan and come out with renewed spiritual energy, purified heart of kindness, heart of unity , love and forgiveness.
Oscar, who is the ‘Baba Adinni’ of Makun, Sagamu and a member of the 8th Ogun State House of Assembly, described Ramadan as a month of purity and faithfulness for the Muslims all over the world.
“You must rededicate yourselves to the service of the Almighty Allah and humanity. Purify your souls, repent your wrongdoings, observe self-sacrifices and devote your attentions to peaceful coexistence with members of other religious sects, as all human beings serve one single God.”
He urged Muslims to emulate Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W), who remains an embodiment of the tenets of Qur’an and principles of Ramadan.
He further reminded Muslims not to forget the lessons that the holy month of Ramadan comes with; sacrifice, denials, renewal of Faith and rebirth, adding that these lessons are the reasons for Ramadan.
While celebrating this year’s Eid, Oscar advised everyone to observe social distancing and obey all medical and Government guidelines to further prevent the spread of the deadly corona virus and stay safe.
He also urged all Ogun citizens and residents to seize the momentum of the completion of this year’s Ramadan to work for sustainable peace, security and economic well-being of the state.
