Eid-el-Fitri: NANS Felicitate With Muslim Students, Urges Compliance To Covid-19 Preventive Measures

The South West leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students, has felicitated with Muslim students on the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, after the completion of the Ramadan fast amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In a press statement by the deputy coordinator, Comrade Oladimeji Uthman, popularly called Dan Fodio, noted that this is a season remember the good things that the Almighty Allah has done in everyone’s lives.

According to him, “The National Association of Nigerian Students South West Zone (NANS Zone D) under the leadership of Comrade Kappo Samuel Olawale uses this medium to felicitate with all our Muslim brothers and sisters as we celebrate another Eid-el-Fitri. We give glory to Almighty Allah for counting us all worthy to witness another.

“I bring to all Nigerian Students warm greetings at this season of Eid-el-Fitri. It is a season of remembrance of the good things that the Almighty Allah has done in our lives. The dictate of Allah (SWT) is that we use this season to share love and Godly affection to our fellow students.

“As students, we should see Eid-l-Fitri celebration as a season of sober reflection, noting that we must continue to submit ourselves totally to the creed of Allah as displayed during the month of Ramadan. We should purge ourselves of evil and wrong doings. It is a season set aside for purity and atonement of sins. It is also a time to lift up the poor, needy and broken hearted through our generosity and empathy.”

Dan Fodio also reminded students not to forget the lessons that the holy month of Ramadan comes with; respect for one another and peaceful co-existence among all in respective of religion and tribe.

While celebrating this year’s Eid, Dan Fodio urged the students to observe social distancing and obey all medical and Government guidelines to further prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus .

However, he noted the importance of observing Eid prayers at homes as directed by the Islamic World Scholars, shun social gathering that has more than twenty persons in attendance, maintain social distance when meeting people, the use of our nose or face masks and sanitize our hands regularly with ethanol based sanitizers.

Finally, the Comrade enjoined every Nigerian Muslim Students to be of good character and remain the best of examples, taking after the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW). He further urged them to pray for an end to insecurity and other challenges that we face as a nation.
