Guru Foundation in partnership with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative carried out a community outreach as a means of providing succour to those affected by the pandemic.
The event occured on Sunday August 23rd at the Alafia-Tayo Playing ground, Igbenren Davol bus stop, Sango-ota of Ogun State had in attendance persons from all age brackets. Over 100 persons were beneficiary of the palliatives which includes sachet peak milk, corn flakes, maggi, curry and detergent soap.
The coordinator of the group, Kehinde Sodipo noted in his opening speech that, as a way of relieving the hardship faced by people in the course of pandemic, and equally providing succour, this initiative became necessary to atleast put smile on their faces.
He equally noted that as a community based organization, they are raising expectional community leaders that will see the need to provide responsive leadership
In response, the community chairman, Engr Alaba Falusi appreciated the foundation with numerous prayers anf equally surprised upmost appreciation for the initiative to have come to his community as this time, equally remarked that it will the beginning of better things.
In the same vein, a cleric, Alfa Najid prayed for the foundation, while also giving citations from the Holy Quran and prayed that Allah bless and sustain the foundation.
Others expressed their appreciation including a septugerian identified as Iya Bimpe.
