Captain Festus Adewale Opanuga has commended the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, acknowledging the good deed over time as the leader of the state.
The Akaka Remo born philanthropist expressed this in a statement issued in Sagamu on Sunday.
According to him, “Governor Abiodun is a symbol of how governance in a state should be. The last 22 months in Ogun State gives testament to the transformation that we have witnessed.
“He fulfils every leadership obligation with the height of commitment and passion towards a better living for the people of Ogun State.”
Opanuga commended the Governor for re-engineering every sector of the state, applauding that the governor did not disappoint the trust repose on him. Foremost, the rehabilitation of over 236 schools and primary health centres across the state. Also, the restoration of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta.
He hailed the idea of the Ogun job portal that recruited over 1500 teachers into state schools, upgrading the employment stage to the next level, provision of 100 patrol vehicles, 200 motorbikes to boost the security performance of the security agencies in the state and the Agro Cargo airport to be located at Ilisan Remo.
He further pointed the heavy presence of Ogun state Public Works Agency (OGPWA) across the state. Also, the commission of two roads linking Ogun to Lagos State and other notable roads within the state.
He pointed the ongoing construction of the Prince Court Estate, Abeokuta in line with his administration’s social welfare promises. The Ilaro general hospital with a new face of renovation can never be erased. He has also empowered market men and women using the “Oko’wo Dapo” loan, giving free interest on every loan for their businesses.
Opanuga could not hide his joy over paid salaries of the state workers in arrears, including state institutions and technical colleges owned by the state government.
The Remo North Chairmanship aspirant praised the governor for his proactive efforts in Containing Coronavirus outbreak in the state. The quick intervention of the governor by construction of isolation centres in Ikeene, Sagamu and other notable places in the state.
Governor Abiodun has constantly also given updates about the initiatives of his administration to contain the virus. These updates have come handy as people of the state go about their duties with caution and without fear. On two occasions that the governor has given out palliatives to the vulnerable.
“These humane, prompt and proactive measures to control an outbreak and the concomitant spread of the virus that has become a global pandemic have earned the governor plaudits across the state and beyond.” Opanuga was effusive.
Finally, Captain Festus Adewale Opanuga urged the people of the state to cooperate with the government in taking the vaccines, he stressed that unhealthy rumour will only spread the virus more. The governor and almost everyone in leadership role as taken the vaccine and nothing has happened. He further stressed that the state hope to see more of Dapo Abiodun’s efforts and commitment towards the service of the people of the state.
