Leading Chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming local government election in Imeko Afon, Bldr. Wale Olorode, has congratulated the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun on the occasion of his birthday and his achievements in office in the past one-year.
In a message signed by the professional builder cum politician on Thursday, Olorode described Governor Abiodun as a leader with simple lifestyle, adding that the celebrant has proven to all that loyalty in and out of office by politicians remain a possibility.
“I join your family, friends, colleagues, associates and party faithfuls to celebrate the grace of God in your life. To say the least, your humility and simplicity as an accomplished business man and a political leader is one to be emulated”, the message read in part.
The foremost aspirant prays that God Almighty continue to increase the incumbent governor on all fronts as he celebrates many more years in the future.
Wale Olorode said that the Governor should be commended for performing well despite the huge debt he inherited upon assumption of office.
“The people of Ogun State were worried when you took over, it’s not about your credibility, character or capacity, but because we knew you inherited a burden of debt. The debt profile of Ogun was high compare to what we generate.
“Today, the same people of Ogun State can see your report card, and are happy you have scored well, you have shown prudency especially in the use of resources of the State.”
Olorode also commended the Governor for re-engineering every sector of the state, applauding that the governor did not disappoint the trust repose on him. Foremost, the rehabilitation of over 236 schools and primary health centres across the state. Also, the restoration of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta.
He hailed the idea of the Ogun job portal that recruited over 1500 teachers into state schools, upgrading the employment stage to the next level, provision of 100 patrol vehicles and 200 motorbikes to boost the security performance of the security agencies in the state.
He further pointed the heavy presence of Ogun state Public Works Agency (OGPWA) across the state. Also, the commission of two roads linking Ogun to Lagos State and other notable roads within the state.
He pointed the ongoing construction of the Prince Court Estate, Abeokuta in line with his administration’s social welfare promises. The Ilaro general hospital with a new face of renovation can never be erased. He has also empowered market men and women using the “Oko’wo Dapo” loan, giving free interest on every loan for their businesses.
Olorode could not hide his joy over paid salaries of the state workers in arrears, including state institutions and technical colleges owned by the state government.
The Imeko Afon aspirant praised the governor for his proactive efforts in Containing Coronavirus outbreak in the state. The construction of isolation centres in Ikeene, Sagamu and other notable places in the state.
Governor Abiodun has constantly also given updates about the initiatives of his administration to contain the virus. These updates have come handy as people of the state go about their duties with caution and without fear. On two occasions that the governor has given out palliatives to the vulnerable.
“These humane, prompt and proactive measures to control an outbreak and the concomitant spread of the virus that has become a global pandemic have earned the governor plaudits across the state and beyond.” Olorode was effusive.
Hon. Wale Olorode enjoins the governor and the people of the state to be in cooperation to fight this hassle and move the state forward in harmony and bliss. He further stressed that the state hope to see more of his efforts and commitment towards the service of the people of the state.
